Forestry & Agroforestry

Restoring Ecosystems, Protecting Forests, and Sustaining Livelihoods

We Promote Afforestation, Reforestation, Agroforestry, and Beekeeping

We address deforestation, land degradation, and declining biodiversity by promoting the interconnected practices of afforestation, reforestation, agroforestry, and beekeeping. It aims to restore degraded landscapes, improve soil fertility, enhance local climate resilience, and provide sustainable livelihoods for rural communities—particularly smallholder farmers, youth, and women.

Key Activities

Afforestation We participate in planting trees on land that was not previously forested, helping to expand forest cover in barren or semi-arid areas. This not only contributes to carbon sequestration but also improves local microclimates, reduces wind erosion, and increases biodiversity.

Reforestation, We focus on restoring degraded or cleared forest areas with native and climate-resilient tree species. These efforts help recover lost habitats, improve watershed health, and stabilize soils prone to erosion.

Agroforestry We engage in activities such as blending trees with crops or livestock on the same piece of land, creating integrated, multifunctional landscapes. Through this method, farmers can improve soil fertility, reduce dependency on chemical fertilizers, increase crop yields, and create diversified income streams. Trees provide shade, improve water retention, and return organic matter to the soil, while crops continue to generate food and income for families.

Community Sensitization and Mobilization

We engage local communities through meetings, radio broadcasts, and educational workshops to raise awareness about the importance of forest conservation, soil restoration, and sustainable land use practices. Build local ownership and encourage active participation.

Introduction and Support for Beekeeping
We distribute modern beehives and equipment to trained community members. We offer practical training on hive management, honey harvesting, bee health, and sustainable apiculture techniques. We emphasize the ecological value of bees in forest and crop pollination.
